All you can eat fried chicken and fish fry

Day three ended in perhaps the most perfectly placed Best Western on the planet.  Our surroundings were gorgeous, weather was perfect, and as we all entered our spacious suites, we wondered what we had done to deserve such fabulous accomodation.  Of course, we have much to thank Mike for, not the least being his suberb navigation skills and his ability to find towns with decent lodging and restaurants.
We walked into Crandon town to find a Friday Fish Fry.  By now we are full of not only deep fried food, but also have had our fill of Jack's stories of the North Woods.  A few at the table are concerned that a Black Bear is going to snatch their child, or that they will be murdered by tiny flies, or possibly lose their way in the vast Sylvania Wilderness.  Jack insists that if we can find our way to one of the many strategically placed hammocks in our drunken/exhausted stupor, we'll be fine, but first we must survive all you can eat and we must also survive day 4, which proves to be a little bit easy and a little bit hard.  Our fish fry experience doesn't end without one secret revealed.  Mike admits that he wonders (perhaps he has been wondering for 5 years), if in fact i am a Lady Spy,
and the notebook that I'm keeping for this journey is a final clue to prove that although I've finally made it to the big boys table, there's still a basic underlying suspicion that perhaps the forces of female power on this earth have infiltrated this sturdy group of men at their weakest moment.  I protest, of course, but take note of the fact that they are weakening, ever so slightly.

  1. Wow, biking the UP of Michigan, and you drop a comment in my blog justacarguy.blogspot.com... I grew up in the UP, and fished in Lake Gogebic several times on opening day.
